I don’t usually visit websites about journalism, but sometimes to read news I like to visit http://www.theclinic.cl/. The Clinic is originally a newspaper (but now all of us read news on internet) characterized by its satire and particular humor, but at the same time you can find serious opinions about politics, culture, and current events, and that’s why I like.  As I say, I don’t visit these types of sites very much, maybe once a week, but I recommend visiting this one, because its cultural criticism through the jokes can be a funnier way to get informed, and they have good interviews and investigative work.

The Website has a lot of sections (Poder, Chilean news, Webeo, Columnas, La Calle, Cultura, Deportes, Around the world, etc) and is friendly with the reader.
Also the design is very distinctive, quite good!

I refuse to grow up

It’s very dificult to me choose a favorite movie because my tastes are extremely varied, but I really love children’s movies and cartoons characters, so this time I want to talk about Toy Story, one of my favorite movies.

Toy story is a comedy-adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios in 1995, and it’s about the life of the Andy’s toys, which pretend to be lifeless when he or humans are present.
The principal characters are Woody (Tom Hanks), a cowboy doll and Buzz Light-year (Tim Allen) an astronaut figure action.

One of my favorites scenes ever, is one of the second part of Toy Story, when Woody is stolen  by a crazy crazy toy collector, who wants to sell it to  a Japanese museum and hires a toy "doctor" for fix every part of Woody and leave it as new, that part is really satisfying to see!

The story of a picture

I took this picture in Rapa Nui (Easter Island), the summer of 2017 and it brings me very good memories because the magic of this place. The photo shows a road, where you can reach one of the island's volcanoes (Rano Kau).

We decided, with my friend, to take this bike ride because it was the cheapest way. When we were leaving to visit the volcano, we asked a man how to get there by bicycle and he told us that it was too long and exhausting in that way, so he offered to take us in his truck to the top, he was so nice.

On the way back, we went down the road by bicycle and it was the best bike ride of my life, the landscape was so beautiful a the descent was very steep, so we went with a lot of speed. At the end of the road we couldn't feel our fingers to hold the brake for so long hahaha. The place was full of cows too, which also chased us. It was a good experience.

There's sexism in cartoons, think about it

While I was thinking in this topic, I realized that the characters which I used to love and I still doing it, they’ve always had feminist ideologies or have represented a critique of gender inequality.

My favorites cartoon series were and are these 90's shows: Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Rocket Power, The Wild Thornberrys, The Powerpuff Girls and Recess, all of them have strong female characters, for example Helga Pataki, Spinelli, Buttercup, Reggie Rocket and Eliza Thornberry, who were out of stereotypes, and demonstrated that they can do the same things (sports, science, leadership, etc) or even better than men.

However, there’s a lot others movies and cartoons that I used to watch, which actually are really sexist, the most clear example are the Disney princesses, when I was a child I couldn’t notice the things that they are normalizing and currently, they are still being a role model for many little girls, even when the movies show a woman who's a stereotype totally wrong.
