First of all, I think education is the base of
everything, so a good education that does not discriminate and understand the
current needs of our society, could be the change to make a best and fair world.
It’s well known that we live in patriarchal society, where the gender gap is
huge. Therefore, the feminist movements of this year have opened a space to
think about these problems, change minds and make a real change. The new generations
could have the opportunity to grow up in a society where women are empowered
and respected, because the way to educate is changing from these movements. Students
who are continuously learning, can change the way to see women,
avoiding the wrong stereotypes that sexist education has imposed.
I think the female movements and petitions are really
necessary to evidence the violence against women. Women from all over the
world are exposing the things which have to stop. The demonstrations
pro-abortion in Argentina, the Hollywood denunciations for harassment and feminist
revolution in Chile as well, have demonstrated that women won’t accept the
violence and discrimination in any of its forms anymore. They have made the
society could realize about the things that are wrong and a non-sexist education have an important
role here.
I totally agree with you, the events that occurred in Hollywood, Argentina and Chile demonstrate that we can change the macho mentality.
